Thrifting Finds #4

It's been a little while since i did one of these but now i have so much to share with you so i apologise in advance if this is a heavy post. Last week i had a big thrifting shop. I went to six different op shops and consignment stores during the week and actually had some really good luck so let me get straight into it.

Let's start this thrifting find off with two pieces from an iconic Australian designer who has been absolutely killing it in the fashion industry lately. That designer is of course Ellery. I recently watched her film showing a behind the scenes look on being invited to showcase at Paris fashion week. It honestly looks so stressful but she did an amazing job!
So anyway, i found these two pieces from a consignment store in Perth. They are both new with tags and are both gorgeous! The first one is this dress, it retails for $680 and i picked it up for $129.

This is an Ellery boxy top with an animal print which i picked up from a consignment store. This one is new with tags, retails for $580 and i picked it up for $65.

I couldn't believe my eyes when i saw this. It's a Victoria Beckham cotton dress in a khaki colour with a belt and it was found at one of my local Salvo stores. One of the clasps at the top of the zip has sadly come off but is super easy to replace and hardly a fault. I found it online for around $800 and i got it for $45.

This one was also picked up from one of my local Salvo store. It's a Jac + Jack thick striped skirt with an elastic waist. It is new with tags, retailing for $129 and i got it for $15.

This one is definitely far too small for me but i couldn't leave it behind. I found this at my local Sunday flea markets. It's a Sass & Bide grey cropped sweater made from 100% cashmere. It's original retail was probably close to $300-$400 and i picked it up for $2!

This is a Manning Cartell dress made from a gorgeous patterned material. I found this one at a consignment store for $95.

Last but not least is this Zimmermann red top with a gold tube detail around the neck. This top is for sure my definition of summer. I found this at the Sunday flea markets for $10.

That is the end of my fourth thrifting finds post. I hope you enjoyed reading about all my finds! Let me know in the comments below if you've found any gems recently from your local flea markets, consignment stores or op shops.

Spring Inspiration

It is now officially the second day of spring and it's still unfortunately cold but warmer weather is well on the way which made me want to create a little spring inspiration for not only myself but for all of you readers.

CLOTHING: Dressing for spring can sometimes be a little tricky as it's transitioning from cold to hot so you can't quite get away with dressing in summery clothes yet. My tip is to pair a summer item with a winter item. For example; a pair of distressed jeans with a summer top, a maxi dress with a cardigan. That way you won't feel the cold breeze as much but you'll still be in the high spirits summer gives you.

MAKEUP: I love to keep it minimal in spring/summer so when spring does come along, i love it to be more about the eyes than anything else so a slightly darker eye with very bare lips and cheeks. Gold and light brown colours look great on the eyes with a good black mascara then use a bronzer and nude lipstick or even a bit of lip balm and your ready to go.

Another makeup tip i have is to invest in a good tinted moisturiser. They are my everyday favourites in spring/summer. Theres nothing worse than sweating in a full face of makeup. With tinted moisturiser you even out your skin tone, cover the redness and adds a little colour to your face. My favourite tinted moisturisers are by Laura Mercier but this year i'm hoping to test out a few new ones so get ready for some reviews.

HAIR: Messy, beachy and out of my face. Exactly what i look for this time of year when it comes to my hair. You'll always see me in a slick ponytail, top knot or half up/half down. Hair shouldn't be much of a concern in summer, it's good to just spray in a little product to ensure it doesn't go frizzy and chuck it into an easy hairstyle.
